Frequently asked questions

Got questions? I’ve got answers.

  • I am located in Denton, Texas but provide virtual therapy services to anyone in Texas. The great news is that with online therapy, I can meet you wherever you are—making it easier and more convenient to get the support you need without adding extra stress to your life.

  • Online therapy makes getting the support you need simple and accessible, no matter where you are. Sessions take place through secure video calls, so we can connect from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you feel most at ease. Just like in-person therapy, we will talk about what is bringing you to therapy, set goals, and explore ways to navigate life’s challenges—all in a private, confidential setting. All you need is a stable internet connection and a device with a camera, and I’ll take care of the rest.

  • I do not offer in-person sessions at this time. That may change in the future, so if you want to be notified if/when that happens then reach out and let me know and I will be sure to keep you updated.

  • Yes, I am currently in-network with the following:

    • Aetna

      • Aetna Marketplace Plans

      • Aetna Medicare Advantage

    • Medicare

    • Oscar Health Plan

    • Scott & White Health Plans

    • United Healthcare

      • UHC Marketplace Plans

      • UHC Medicare Advantage

I am in the process of getting contracted with several other major health plans. If you don’t see your insurance listed, please reach out and I can let you know your options. If I can’t help, I will help you find someone that can.

  • If you have insurance, the rate is determined by your insurance company, and will not be the rates listed below. If you have questions, contact me, and I can let you know what to expect.

If you don’t have insurance or choose not to use your insurance benefits, these are the private pay rates:

    • Initial Session (60 minutes): $200

    • Individual Session (50-55 minutes): $150

  • Some people choose not to use their insurance for therapy because of concerns about privacy. Insurance companies require a diagnosis to process claims, which becomes part of your medical record. Others might avoid insurance because of limited options for in-network providers or restrictions on the type or number of sessions covered. For some, paying privately offers more freedom to choose their therapist and focus on their needs without involving their insurance company.

  • During your first appointment, we’ll spend time getting a clear picture of what’s been going on and digging into the symptoms you’re experiencing. I’ll ask questions to better understand how things are affecting your life, and together we’ll start outlining a plan to move forward. How in-depth we go depends on several factors, including what you’re comfortable with and the information you share beforehand.

Before our session, you’ll complete some paperwork that helps guide what we focus on in that first meeting—so don’t worry, you won’t have to remember everything on the spot! It’s about striking a balance: digging into what’s important while making sure it feels manageable for you.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to how long you’ll need therapy—it really depends on your goals, challenges, and personal journey. Some people find a few sessions are enough to work through a specific issue, while others benefit from ongoing support over a longer period. Together, we’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust as needed to make sure therapy is meeting your needs. Ultimately, the length of your therapy is up to you and what feels right for your growth and well-being.

  • Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of therapy services if you are uninsured or paying out of pocket.

What Is a Good Faith Estimate?

A Good Faith Estimate provides a breakdown of the services you may receive, including:

The type of services (e.g., initial intake, therapy sessions).

The estimated cost for each service.

The total estimated cost for your treatment plan.

This estimate is based on the information available at the time and may change depending on your treatment needs, such as changes in session frequency or additional services.

    Your Rights

You have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate at any time before or during your care.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.

For more information on your rights, visit Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
